Summary/Abstract: A reply to the questionnaire on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Teksty Drugie: my personal views on literature, literary studies and other issues of consequence. Today, a task of utmost importance is to transform literary studies, to stop them from coming under suspicion for being unproductive: from Barthes and Wat through to creative accountancy and social sciences.
