Summary/Abstract: The main purpose of this article is to outline the role of Anglicism in Spanish vocabulary. As we all know, language is constantly evolving, undergoing continuous changes. The influence of English language contributes to renew the goal of modernizing the lexicon, as long as these loans are used in a rationally way. The beginning of the expansion of Anglicism is considered to date back to the second half of the 20th century, when all the latest state-of-the-art technologies were becoming more and more accessible to ordinary speakers. We are talking about an international phenomenon (not only European, but also global).
