Summary/Abstract: Emotional intelligence represents the ability to identify, evaluate and control one's own emotions as well as those of the people around. This type of intelligence resides in the ability to know and understand yourself and to know and understand others. Emotional intelligence is related to concepts such as love, empathy, spirituality, and is not related to the intelligence quotient that we all know - IQ." (3, p. 5) In a single phrase, emotional intelligence is the ability to identify, understand and manage moods and feelings - both our own and those of others.
