Summary/Abstract: It is known that existentialism is interested in the inner life of the existing individual, especially in those ”darker” aspects. Although this philosophical current shows itself to be a unitary one, it can be stated that there is no existentialism, only existentialists. However, if we were to try to define the main premises of this philosophy, we can do so by identifying its main ideas and themes. The contingency of the human being, the feeling of alienation and absurdity, the finitude and urgency of death, all these represent concepts that reflect certain concrete feelings and states that every human can experience in his life. The main themes or categories of existentialist thought concern all aspects of human existence and assume, in a positive or negative, explicit or implicit manner, the dimension of transcendence. Therefore, these themes can be analyzed and interpreted can be interpreted from the perspective of Orthodox theology.
