Summary/Abstract: Information security is presented as an irrevocable element of national security, the basis of the state information policy and the development of the information society in the Republic of Bulgaria. It is seen as a key area for power structures and organizations in the information space and aims to guarantee the rights of individuals and society to access objective and reliable information. It is emphasized that the information function of the state is implemented on the basis of the existing regulatory framework. This process includes the development of policies, rules and procedures for security in the information space, supporting the formation of a mature information society and a sustainable information space that can counter modern information threats. The creation of a stable regulatory basis and the fight against information aggression are essential for the protection of the information space, maintaining stability and guaranteeing opportunities for the country's development.
