Human dignity with the educational passion of Dr. Wanda Półtawska

Summary/Abstract: RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of the article is to show the educational passion of Wanda Półtawska, shaped under the influence of war experiences and recognizing in the background of the ethical chaos and anthropological crisis that the 21st century is marked by.RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The research problem is defined: why and in what sense does the dignity of the human person become the essence of Wanda Półtawska’s educa- tional passion? In searching the answer to it, the hermeneutics of her texts and statements used, as well as the analysis of her narrative during personal meetings with the Author of this article.THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: First, several representative characters, who had the dramatic experiences of the Second World War were shown. Transcending extermination camp sufferings (passio), they started various initiatives for protecting human dignity. Then, the selected aspects concerning Wanda Półtawska’s dignity attitude were presented from her biography. The third part exposes the theses regarding the main value of human life, which Wanda Półtawska passes to young generations with real passion.RESEARCH RESULTS : The conducted analysis shows that Dr Półtawska's educational passion is to awaken the awareness of personal dignity and the dignity of every human being in young generations. Dr. Półtawska justifies this from the perspective of theological reflection on human dignity and explicates it in the phrase "genealogia divina - God's origin of man."CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The analysis and interpretation of the collected research material on the life of Wanda Półtawska brings out the value of passion. It is the original “pedagogy of life” understood as upbringing – educational attitude that leads a young person towards discovering the sense of life, by becoming aware of dignity of every human being to self, regardless of the circumstances.
