Summary/Abstract: Recently, fairy tale therapy has become increasingly popular for working with children with intellectual disabilities. Therapeutic fairy tales are increasingly used not only by therapists, but also by teachers and parents. In this article, the author presents the idea of fairy tale therapy as a method of working with children with intellectual disabilities as an excellent aid in eliminating typical fears of children. The concept of intellectual disability, functions and features of therapeutic fairy tales are discussed. Tips for working with children with intellectual disabilities are given. The role of therapeutic fairy tales in providing children with intellectual disabilities with positive role models is emphasized.
