Summary/Abstract: The book comprises eight papers which were presented at the scientific conference devoted to the summary and assessment of the postconciliar Mariology in German speaking countries. The first part, more historical, presents origins, history and the main achievements of the three centers which shape modern German speaking Mariology (German Mariological Associacion, International Ma- riological Society in Kevelaer, Marian Institute of Regensburg). The other part focuses on theolog- ical aspects. It discusses the specificity of Benedict XVI’s Mariology and that of the other leading Mariologists of German speaking areas (e.g. H. Menke, A. Ditrich, M. Hoffman, R. Hangler and G. Greshake), as well as describing the present-day occurrence of Mariological lectures in the Cath- olic theological faculties of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
