Summary/Abstract: In this article, the author reveals the meetings communist leader Chivu Stoica had in Moscow in July 1945, with Stalin and Georgi Dimitrov. These meetings revealed just now demonstrate the interests of the Soviet leadership in Romanian Communist Party activity during the war, the ousting from power of former general secretary Ştefan Foriş, and the involvement of RCP in the coup on August 23, 1944.The first part of this study analyses the context of Chivu Stoica’s visit to Moscow, brings new information on RCP and Soviet leadership’s relations during 1944-1945 and critically analyses Chivu Stoica’s accounts of his talks with Dimitrov.
