November 1918 in the territory under the German occupation in documents of Polish Military Organization from the resource of Military Historical Biuro

Summary/Abstract: The author made a selection of those PMO documents that in his opinion best render the character and atmosphere of the November 1918 events. The PMO documents stored in the collection of the Central Military Archives of the Military Historical Bureau of Lieutenant-General Kazimierz Sosnkowski are a valuable source for getting to know the events of the second and third decades of November 1918 in the area of German occupation. They show the course of disarming the German army, and inform on the losses suffered by both PMO members and civilians participating in the abovementioned events. They present the dangers posed by German units and Russian prisoners of war released from camps, as well as internal frictions between PMO, the soldiers of the former Royal Polish Army, and members of the Polish I Corps in Russia. They also allow to trace the process of forming the army in a reviving state.
