Summary/Abstract: According to the regulations on the intelligence service in the Polish Army that came into life in 1919, it was to be based on ideological principles, and the service of individuals acting for fi nancial purposes was to be used only exceptionally, i.e. in the case of particularly precious intelligence materials. In reality, undercover agents and paid informers were used to obtain information. As a result, there were also cases of embezzlement or money wangling from the intelligence funds.
