Summary/Abstract: Since the world we live in is increasingly complex, the answers to the pressing problems faced by people in a wider context, especially Muslims, cannot be hasty, nor one-sided or narrow. In fact, asking the right questions seems to be fundamentally important. Hence, Muslim intellectuals also tried to reexamine everything they had previously assumed and, a priori, considered unquestionable, so that, in the end, they could properly illuminate even the darkest corners of their own cultural and intellectual horizon. In relation to the overall Muslim heritage, there have been those who wanted to make a strong break with the past, perceiving it as a burden that prevents the true intellectual ascension of the Muslim man, but also those who, in relation to the achievements of the contemporary civilization, tried to make an uncompromising departure from it in order to permanently protect what they hold as value in that way, or to or conserve it. However, neither Salafi nor modernist thought is simply able to offer an interpretative approach that will offer a strong all-round determination to the Muslim man. In order for the hermeneutic framework to be truly authentic, an ontological foundation in the constitutive tradition (Qur’an and Sunnah) is necessary, along with a historical interpretive continuum, which will make the sense of history and time particularly keen and ultimately lead to strongly grounded social modalities that will be recognized for their relevance and conductivity.
