Summary/Abstract: The illegal trade in counterfeit alcoholic beverages is a serious and growing threat in the modern world. It has a negative impact on aspects of life such as consumer health, economic growth and the rule of law. The aim of this article is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the counterfeiting of alcoholic beverages by defining the concept, scope and trends associated with it. The article also considers the latest methods of counterfeiting alcoholic beverages, as well as addresses issues of prevention and combating this phenomenon. These considerations allow us to conclude that only systemic measures in the legislative, educational and organisational areas will make it possible to effectively prevent and combat the counterfeiting of alcoholic beverages and to increase consumer awareness of the negative impact on their health and life.
