Summary/Abstract: The article addresses the issue of naturalisations as a way of acquisition of citizenship in the Independent State of Croatia. The research question we deal with in this paper relates to legal regulations and the practise of naturalisations. Since the topic is still not adequately researched, the article relies mainly on archival sources available in the Croatian National Archives and relevant legislation. The author analysed various aspects of naturalisations that were going on a central as well as on the local level.
