Summary/Abstract: Within the context of a unitary vision upon the development of public policies, the author analyses by comparison the monitoring and assessment phase within the framework of the cycle of a public policy underlining the role of feedback when taking decisions, by politics staff, meant to generate a maximum efficiency in implementation and realization of the established plan. The people deciding of a policy will have better chances if they would know how to valorize the times, methods and proceedings of assessment, especially juridical and administration assessment forms, according to suitable time and place, if the take into consideration all information sources (intern, extern, formal and informal) and if monitoring is going to be looked upon as a component of the optimization process of the adjusting process of all phases of a public policy cycle. The author associates the analyze of some typologies concerning assessment of public policies to the conceptual approaches of monitoring and assessment of public policies, within the framework of which we insist upon the terms of the objectiveness of the drawing up of the assessment judgments, appraisals and evaluations, error and malpraxis cases prevention. In this regard, the processing of the assessment program by the expert team, the access to the information sources and the assessors’ mastership of the methods, the proceedings, and documentation, information and audit techniques as well as the attitude of neutrality of these, are the necessary premises on the basis of which the final assessment report is going to be built.
