Summary/Abstract: The article evaluates the health condition of the population in the First Czechoslovak Republic during the first ten years of its independence, primarily during the 1920s, a period of the development of its state administration, stabilisation, and building of the political-economic, political-social, political-educational, and political-healthcare foundations. It was a basic precondition for the successful general development of society within the new state which was affected by significantly incompatible conditions that had to be removed little by little.
