Summary/Abstract: This article is an attempt to look at the issue of the nominations of Polish football clubs, using nature in its broadest sense in the creation of names – the world of plants and animals (fauna and flora), but also some meteorological phenomena, celestial bodies and physical phenomena, minerals, landforms, etc. The analyses aim to establish: a) the lexical-semantic fields from which the creators draw their motivational basis, b) the repertoire of words used for nominalisation, c) their frequency and d) the connoted meanings. The vocabulary of nature-associated appellations comprises 124 motivation bases used in the naming of 751 football clubs and confirms the eternal interdependence of the human world and nature one.
