Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the image of the totalitarian dictator presented in the play A Woman of Wonder. A Tragicomedy in Three Acts (1938) by Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska. The text compares the image of a leader, presented in the farcical-cum-grotesque comedy, with the historical figure Adolf Hitler and traces the connections between the mechanisms of imposing power presented in the play and those used by National Socialists.
