Summary/Abstract: The Orthodox Church was actively reviving in Podkarpatska (Subcarpathian) Rus in the early 1920-th. The number of its believers was increasing due to the former Greek Catholics who had left the Mukachevo eparchy. A struggle arose between Greek Catholics and Orthodox Christians for temples and church property, which transformed into open conflicts. Physical violence, arson, property damage etc., were used from both sides. The Czechoslovak authorities tried to finish the religious war by various methods. First of all, they tried to reconcile the conflicting parties, to allocate premises for prayer houses and worked on changing the legislation. In the funds of the National Archives in Prague, many documents on this topic have been preserved, which make it possible to re-evaluate the causes, scale and results of the religious struggle.
