Bolshevik and communist themes on the pages of Orthodox Church periodicals in Subcarpathian Rus in 1920–1930 years

Summary/Abstract: In Subcarpathian Rus in 1920–1930 pp. the Orthodox Church issued three periodicals in Russian: "Russian Orthodox Herald", "Church Truth" and "Orthodox Karpatorussky Herald". Magazines were edited by both emigrants and local intellectuals of various kinds professions. The named periodicals were attributed to the Bolshevik and there is relatively little space for communist topics in its columns. However, these publications were harsh and not reconciled with the anti-church doctrine of the Bolsheviks and Communists. The editors of the magazines were monitored up-to-date information about the position of the Bolshevik regime in the Soviet Union Russia and the USSR, wrote a lot about oppression, persecution and repression against church hierarchy, clergy and ordinary believers of the church. They did not go around the attention of the newspaper and the persecution of representatives of other professions by the Bolsheviks, citing statistics of atrocities and crimes important for Subcarpathian Rus. The author analyses the publications, emphasizing the anti-Bolshevik sentiment editorial boards of periodicals.
