Summary/Abstract: There is information on cultural and historical issues in Azra Erhat's work named Think Writings, which is compiled from the letters of the Fisherman of Halicarnassus. It can be said that this work of his constitutes the intellectual basis of the literary works of Halikarnas Balıkçısı. Because when the deep historical knowledge and cultural awareness he uses in his literary works are examined, it will be revealed that the author has a deep-rooted knowledge. Listing this information in the form of letters, not novels, the author brings different perspectives to history and literature. He explains history, religion, culture, beliefs and other subjects from different perspectives and original interpretations. This approach of his should be sought in an effort to transfer his knowledge by combining it with literary pleasure. The author's disorganized way of speaking and jumping from branch to branch in his letters can be attributed to the desire to keep the reader's attention alive. When these writings of him are examined, it can be seen that he made new inferences about both Turkish history and the civilization of the Mediterranean basin. The author, who avoids giving sources while listing the information that we do not come across in the history books and which is mostly decorated with mythological information, tries to prove the thoughts he deals with based on the folk culture and the words used by the people. This attitude of his makes the subjects he covers in his letters original and interesting.
