ANA BLANDIANA’S THEATRE LESSON: A FANTASTIC NARRATIVE AND INITIATORY EXERCISE

Summary/Abstract: By using fictional strategies specific to her fantastic prose, Ana Blandiana's Lecția de teatru enhances an initiatory exercise performed according to the coordinates of a funeral ritual in the preparation for the Great Journey, whose subject is a narrator-actor predisposed to perceive the particular nature of things. The narrative script – and the skit in which the narrator participates – have a double stake: to initiate the neophyte-narrator into the great mechanism of life and death, presided over by the privileged descent of the transcendent into the immanent, and to provide the initiate with information about his father, integrated, through death, in this mechanism.
