Summary/Abstract: Linguistic atlases contain a multitude of information of sociolinguistic nature, embodied into notes that constitute what the linguists have called “metalinguistic comments” or “reactions of the speaker subject”. There are to be taken into consideration some research directions are to be taken into consideration from sociolinguistics, such as the usage of the language, and especially certain attitudes regarding the language. Metalinguistic comments were extracted from the four volumes published from Atlasul Lingvistic al Maramureşului/ The Linguistic Atlas of Maramureş, and were classified according to the criteria of age, social status, level of education, sex, religion and nationality.
