Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present several central concepts of sociological nature and theoretical perspectives on gender to analyse how values are developing at the individual level, to analyse classroom environment issues and to reflect on how gender should be addressed by teachers. I am using a selective, free-form approach and I am focusing on the microsystem of the education such as students and teachers’ beliefs and their interactions when analysing how central theories of sociology could help in interpreting daily situations in school.
