Summary/Abstract: The interwar novel, captive in the traditional-modern oscillation, brings to the reader's attention the favorite themes of its time, themes generated by the reality of the time: the war, the big city (to which the degradation, superficiality, dissolution of the authentic is most often connected) or the village, with its typical forms of manifestation, with its own norms, with its well-established rituals. Such a model is also the one proposed by the interwar prose writer Henriette Yvonne Stahl, the one who, valorizing the world of the traditional village, captures authentic samples of life and outlines unique human portraits.
