Summary/Abstract: Lately we have noticed an alarming situation: with every generation (especially on master programs) is raising the number of students that ask for a postponement about their papers/homework/presentations/ thesis or even abandon the finalisation of their studies. Obviously, we wonder what caused this behaviour. Is it something that we have changed in our behaviour? Are we, as teachers, too indulgent and we needed to be firmer and establish firm limits in our teachers – student relationship so that to determine a responsible behaviour from students? Or are we too exigent in this world always in hurry, and we do not consider the multitude of responsibilities that our students are assuming (having a job, being a partner in a marriage or even being a parent etc. and also being a student)? Or there are other factors that influence this kind of behaviour? Trying to find answers to these questions we have proposed this preliminary study (because we intend to continue these observations during next years) in order to identify characteristics/risk factors for procrastination on our master students. For this purpose, we have proposed an analysis of the frequency and constancy in professor – master student correspondence in order to finalize their thesis.
