Summary/Abstract: The European Union General Data Protection Regulation had a huge impact on companies worldwide and on how companies and other processors use data. A new compliance standard that will have at least just as big of on impact is on the way, as the European Union NIS 2 Directive is set to be transposed into national legislation no later than October 2024. The aim of this directive is to establish a high common level of cybersecurity across the Union. This paper is aimed at analyzing the current status of cybersecurity law and what to expect from the NIS 2 Directive
