Summary/Abstract: The article offers a comparative analysis on the example of the work of Lesya Ukrainka and the „Kyiv neoclassicals” („the five bunch”). The paper emphasizes not only on the main characters of the works, but also on secondary characters. The research assumes that some images-characters of Lesya Ukrainka could have been developed by individual neoclassicals and used as implications, taking into account the reference point to the elitarian reader. The connection between Ukrainian neo-romanticism and neoclassicism has been allocated. The feminine aspect of the analysed works is emphasised. Selected ancient and biblical images (characters) in the dramatic texts of Ukrainian neo-romanticism and the lyrics of neoclassicals are taken into account. The attention is paid to the foreign context – as the image of Salomé, inspired by the eponymous tragedy by Oscar Wilde. Comparative, textual, archetypal (Jungian), mythological, bibleistic, genderological, etymological analysis are used.
