Summary/Abstract: The subject of this article are idioms. They are examined as constructs representing a vital, intrinsic and irreplaceable facet of language as they are emblematic of a nation's cultural legacy. The contrastive analysis of Bulgarian and German idioms for comparison with a flora component aims at discerning and delineating the shared characteristics and disparities between these two unique cultural and linguistic communities.
