Summary/Abstract: This paper continues the investigation into maestro Aurel Stroe’s view on composition in relation to morphogenetic music – described at a theoretical and musicological level in an ample study that he co-authored with C. and M. Georgescu: MORPHOGENETIC MUSIC – A CATASTROPHIC-THERMODYNAMIC APPROACH TO MUSICAL COMPOSITION (typed manuscript, in English, unpublished). The composer explains the main concepts of his creation, of his musical thinking (whose complexity remains unequalled in the 20th century in the Romanian musical creation). His concepts and vision stem from the direct contact with the most important currents of contemporary European thinking (that he lived with), Aurel Stroe’s contribution to musicology includes a corpus of musicological concepts which require systematization and, thus, a deeper understanding.
