Summary/Abstract: The secularization processes currently progressing in Poland, especially the ones affecting the youngest generation entering adulthood, should lead to questioning of the effectiveness of the traditional model of pastoral care concentrated on school-based religious education and their impact on sacramental practices. Based on an analysis of the General Directory for Catechesis and previous catechetical documents, the article will present the catechumenal model as the one that is intended to help lead the already baptized to mature faith. The study of the topic made it possible to formulate the conclusion that the re-baptismal (post-baptismal) catechumenate, taking into account the individual situation of an individual, is a formative process that lasts a lifetime, and the postulate for the urgent development of new models of introduction into Christianity based on the style and the dynamics of this institution.
