Summary/Abstract: Trade credit insurers differ from other property insurers in terms of both sources of risk and underwrit- ing techniques, which makes them similar to banks checking their clients’ credit ratings. This affects the wide range of operations which they perform, which in turn is reflected in the kind of risk that they incur. It is unique in terms of underwriting, reinsurance (microeconomic risk), changes in the market- place and aggregation (systematic risk) as well as economic cycles, political, social and environmental changes and changes in currency exchange rate (systemic risk).
