Summary/Abstract: During November 1878 - December 1879 Dobroudja was under the occupation and control of the Allied Powers.The main goal of this military occupation according to the request to general Berthelot was to ensure the order during the installation of Romanian civilian authorities in Dobroudja, under the control of the Allied Troops.The 61-st Infantry Regiment military occupied The old Dobroudja between December 1878-June 1879.The French troops will develop in the Northern Dobroudja as follows: in Tulcea at November the 24-th/ December 1918, in Cernavoda between November the 29-th/ December the 11-th 1918 in Constanta between November the 28-th/ December the 10-the 1918, and in Medgidia between November the 30-th/ December the 13-th 1918On December 2/15 1918 the 61-st Infantry Regiment and in Constanta between nt was having two batallions and a n Engineers company in Constanta and one battalion in Cernavoda-Medgidia-Tulcea.The commandand in charge of the French troops in Dobroudja, Lt. col. Bonneau was having a an equal behaviour towards the Romanians and Bulgarians. There were signaled worrying acts in the Bulgarian villages where the inhabitants were having weapons and ammunition left over there by the Bulgarian army hen retreating. They even try to push away the establishing of the Romanian authoritiesThis way in the villages Inan Cisme (Fantanele), Toxov (Grădina), Potur (Panduru), Hamangia (Baia), Casapchioi (Sinoe), Gargalic (Corbu) and Esechioi the intervention of the Romanian gendarms and French troops was necessary.
