Summary/Abstract: This publication analyzes issues related to the examination of dactyloscopic fingerprints, laid in lieu of signatures in documents, based on the forensic and legal practices in Bulgaria. It focuses on the two most important aspects of the process of examination: the quality of the fingerprints as objects of the forensic analysis, and the possibilities of finding good quality samples to be used as comparative samples.
