Summary/Abstract: The paper investigates the complex of neologisms that arose in the Russian language after the events in Ukraine (Maydan in 2013-2014 years, the Revolution of dignity and military conflict in the Donbas). The consequence of these events include the emergence of a large number of new lexical units in the spoken language that have received a written fixation via Internet discourse. In the paper, particular attention is given to the method of fixing neologisms in the language: new words from the comments, posts on social networks and blogs, via newspaper’ columns fall in the official language of the mass media. This paper discusses both words and phrases which have become idioms as a result of lexicalization. The importance of play on words (puns) in the formation of new vocabulary is stressed. A high level of linguistic aggression inherent to the segment of vocabulary is observed.
