Conditions of phraseological neologism fixing in political journalism

Summary/Abstract: The paper investigates the process of the formation and fixing of new phraseological units in political journalism, which at the present stage is an area of active occurrence of phraseology. The factors affecting the fixing of phraseological neologisms in language are observed. Such factors include the relevance and universality of phenomena, which are characterized by the phraseological unit, phraseological expressiveness, its estimated potential, as well as formal properties, including phonetic structure, which leads to ease of pronunciation, clarity, derivational potential, etc. Analysis of new phraseological units in political journalism, according to the selected criteria allows predicting the duration of their functioning.
