Summary/Abstract: The municipal elections to the local self-administration bodies of cities and municipalities were held in November 2014. Citizens elected municipal mayors in those elections as well as representatives to municipal councils. The elected bodies influence the direction of municipal development, the municipal representatives´ protection of citizens´ needs and interests as well as the tasks and obligations according to the law. The municipal elections have been held seven times already. The citizens´ interest was attracted by the variety of the left and right-wing coalitions. That is why we can consider the political affiliation and idea difference on the municipal level not so important. What is more important is the common target of the people.
