Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the possibility of using e-learning in education of employees of municipalities. Traditional educational methods have not only advantages, but also disadvantages, e.g. they are time-demanding, strictly scheduled, employees are absent from offices, travel expenses are involved, etc. One of the ways how to solve this problem is the use of e-learning. This paper presents the results of educational experiment that was implemented at the Faculty of Informatics and Management, the University of Hradec Králové. The aim of the experiment mentioned above is to compare the efficiency of teaching methods with the support of e- learning with traditional teaching methods in the subject of Principles of Management. The following methods were used in the research: a pedagogical experiment, educational tests (pre-test and post-test) and statistical methods for the results processing. Based on the experiment, we can claim that teaching methods involving e-learning are as effective as the traditional ones. This finding is important when deciding on the introduction of this tool in the education of management of municipalities.
