Summary/Abstract: Regarding to the requirement of sustainable development, as a new frame of the strategy of civilization development, various frugal forms of tourism appear there. These forms are supported at the national and international level as well as at the organizational and institutional level. Tourism sustainability is supported by means of environmental education including implementing several programmes to raise the environmental awareness of owners and managers of tourist and leisure-time enterprises on the necessity and possibilities of running a responsible business. This paper focuses on sustainable tourism. From a theoretical point of view this paper describes tourism, its frugal forms and characterizes subjects acting in that field. By means of comparative analysis based on selected criteria this paper aims at the comparison of chosen ecolabels – EU Ecolabel, Green Key and ECET QUALITY LABEL.
