Summary/Abstract: In order to achieve a communicative purpose, the discoursal categories are organised in a genre-specific order. The typical regularities of content organisation specific to a particular genre, in this case to advertisements, form the canonical structure. The present paper analyses the canonical structure of 84 written advertisements and highlights some concluding remarks.
