Summary/Abstract: This article presents the results of research on critical infrastructure from the perspective of ensuring the conditions for its efficient functioning. The subject of the research is critical infrastructure, perceived in terms of activities ensuring its functioning. The aim of the conducted investigations was to identify the basic assumptions of managing the security of facilities (systems) classified as critical infrastructure. The main research problem was formulated as a question: What actions should be taken to efficiently manage the security of critical infrastructure. Research hypothesis: it is assumed that maintaining professional structures of critical infrastructure management in full readiness to counteract various types of threats allows for its efficient operation, elimination of potential threats, as well as quick removal of the effects of adverse events This issue is presented on the basis of normative documents (acts, regulations), as well as selected literature devoted to the functioning of the crisis management system.
