Summary/Abstract: Irina Ščerbaková (b. 1949) is a Russian Germanist dealing with modern history, author and co-author of several monographs and dozens of studies mainly on the issue Stalinist repressions. She studied German philology at Lomonosov University. In 1972, she received a doctorate in German language and literature and supported herself as a freelance translator and journalist.
