Summary/Abstract: In the period between two World Wars, the public opinion in Spain owed the information about the situation in Poland to Sofía Casanova Lutosławska, born in Spain who became a Polish resident through marriage, and to Casimiro Granzow de la Cerda, Duke of Parcent, born in Poland who became a Spanish diplomat and businessman. Casanova published her articles in the Madrid daily ABC as its regular correspondent, and Granzow de la Cerda was an author of a book on Polish history, press articles, as well as diplomatic reports and personal accounts of life in Warsaw under the Nazi occupation. Th e present article focuses on the specifi c thread that emerges out of numerous texts produced by both authors; namely on the ways in which Jewish presence in Poland was refl ected in their writings. Irrespective of their intentions, their texts reveal anti-Semitic attitudes common in Polish society.
