Summary/Abstract: The main aim of this article is to highlight discrepancies and similarities in the structuring and use of the French expressive conversational formula faut pas pousser and its Polish equivalent bez przesady. The use of a descriptive model based on a set of relevant formal, pragmatic-semantic, discourse, affective and socio-cultural parameters made it possible to show in which speech acts, depending on the respective contexts, the formulae being compared are involved.
