Summary/Abstract: The General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR, requires Member States to reconcile the right to the protection of personal data with the freedom of expression and the right to information in law. Member States may adopt derogations and exceptions in this respect. The focus of our comparative legal research is to examine the exceptions and derogations adopted under Article 85(2) GDPR and notified under (3) in selected EU countries, Germany and Italy, and one former EU Member State, the UK.
