Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problems of translation and interpretation of certain places in the biblical text. As a pretext for the considerations undertaken, the author used Tadeusz Szymański’s sketch published in the “Język Polski” magazine in the final years of the last century, in which the Cracovian Slavist proves that the translation of the pericope “about the camel and the eye of a needle”, found in all the synoptic gospels (Mt 19:24; Mk 10:25; Lk 18:25), is erroneous in the Polish translation‑biblical tradition. According to the author of the study, Tadeusz Szymanski’s sketch reveals both some misunderstandings and gives rise to the need for more integrated, philological and biblical research in the field of translation and biblical exegesis.
