Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt to indicate the complex genetic conditions and manifold ways in which linguistic units of biblical origin have penetrated the Polish language. The object of the study are selected structures of the rank of biblical collocations. These are the expressions: arka przymierza, padół łez/płaczu and the phrase (A) słowo stało się ciałem, which have gained the status of established units of the Polish language mainly through their representation in various forms in native Polish texts and genres belonging to literature in a broader sense (literary fiction, religious literature). The common ground for the dissemination of the biblicisms subjected to description turned out to be native Polish literary-religious texts referring to Marian themes and motifs deeply rooted in Polish literature and culture.
