Summary/Abstract: The text presents the current understanding of the three dimensions of impul-sivity, namely: impulsivity as a stable personality trait, impulsivity as a neurocognitive feature, and impulsivity as a feature of a wide range of mental disorders. Last of them is profoundly overviewed in it. The second theoretical part of the text presents the impulsivity beyond the diagnosis of special psychiatry, examining it through the prism of general psychopathology as a driving element of abnormal and in particular criminal behavior through the phenomena of mental automatism, automatic obedience, impulsive actions and schizophrenic sudden killing in its juxtaposition with schizophrenic homicide.
