Warsaw’s urban naming’s connections with literature

Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on one segment of a large corpus of urban naming – names referring to the literature. Using the example of Warsaw, the author has identified these names, distinguished three major categories of them, and also analysed their location. The category of names that commemorate writers and poets turned out to be the dominant one in terms of numbers, although there are also surprisingly significant amount of names referring to literary works. Names referring to writers and literary works often appear in clusters.
