Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study was to indicate the future transformations and chal- lenges faced by the transport sector in the process of implementing the European Green Deal concept, for which Fit for 55 is the executive package. The study pro- vides the essence, assumptions and tools for implementing the mentioned concept in the area of transport and its branches. In this regard, the European Commission prefers investments in rail and inland waterway transport, while preferring electric vehicles and intermodal transport. On the basis of a questionnaire survey conducted on a group of 60 people (representatives of transport companies), knowledge on theknowledge of issues (directions of changes, challenges) in the area of the European Green Deal and the Fit for 44 package (Ready for 55%) was obtained. The conduct- ed research shows that the knowledge of the European Green Deal does not go hand in hand with the respondents’ conviction about the need to implement this concept in the current economic situation of Poland. 55% of respondents are convinced that it is necessary to postpone or abandon the implementation of projects forming the European Green Deal.
